Student Elective Awards |
|
| |
At least three Peer Reviewers, individuals with experience in the fields of study covered by the applications, are approached to review all the applications received. The individuals are independent of both the applying institution and the student. This ensures that there is no bias towards a particular application. The Peer Reviewers provide comments and rank each application. The Research Council discuss then approve the rankings provided to proceed with the awards.
A Final Report is expected three months after the completion of the elective period. This is reviewed by one or two external, non-conflicted Peer Reviewers in the field of study. Their comments and scores provided on set questions relating to originality, design of the study, and supervision received, are then discussed by the Research Council.
Elective Final Reports deemed to adhere to the high standards of the Foundation are then recommended to the Board of Trustees for final ratification. Only then is the report accepted.
In the case of a report which is decided to be unacceptable, the student will be asked to rewrite the report, taking into account comments provided from Internal and External Peer Review. This re-written report will then be reviewed again. |
