What we fund

Research is the core business of the Healing Foundation.

Through research, we aim to contribute significantly to improving the lives of the many hundreds of thousands of people in the UK and globally, who live with disfigurement and visible loss of function. This will be represented not only in better clinical and surgical techniques but also in an improved understanding of the psychological aspects of disfigurement and a contribution to the development of patient support services.

Our current priorities include:

The Healing Foundation Centre at the University of Manchester
The Healing Foundation UK Cleft Collaboration
supported by VTCT
The Healing Foundation UK Centre for Cleft Research at the University of Manchester
The Healing Foundation UK Cleft Gene Bank and Birth Cohort Study at the University of Bristol
The Healing Foundation UK Centres for Burns Research

At the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust
At the University of Bristol for paediatric burns research
